Why Solid State?
Less Overall Cost and Increased Reliability
With no moving mechanisms and contacts to degrade, solid state controllers offer improved system reliability and faster activation compared to electromechanical equivalents.
This in turn leads to lower cost of use due to the number of cycles that can be achieved as well as less downtime in the field. Solid State Controllers have exceptional resilience to storage and operating factors such as mechanical shock and vibration, as well as humidity and external magnetic radiation. Bounce-free switching provides increased accuracy of pulsed and counting capabilities. The output resistance remains constant regardless of the amount of use, while providing higher input-to-output isolation properties. Class 1 systems go a step further to also include inbuilt circuit protection, all leading to less cost with increased reliability. |
