Specialist haulage fleets carry loads which need to be heated, cooled, refrigerated, monitored, lifted, handled, or aerated.  All of these electrical processes need power.

Antares have been providing solutions in this field to transport loads as diverse as live crabs, fine artworks, flowers, parcels, ink, chocolate, chilled goods, milk, powder, vintage cars, tyres, and frozen foods.

Working directly with fleet managers we aim to understand the operational problem and select and apply the latest technology to solve the issue – where necessary creating bespoke modules.   It is this approach which uniquely sets us apart as a first tier system supplier in auxiliary electrical systems.

Parcel Trailer Lifting Deck Power

Parcel freight trailers traversing between the hub and the depot often cannot be connected to mains during the day .  The power on the trailer relies on the existing tractors and conventional susi sockets with their limitations on current throughput and variable voltage. 

The key to our approach is an innovative line charger which detects the presence of a tractor with the engine running and safely and continuously “pulls” power through to the batteries – maximising recharge.

“Inert Gas Environment” Entry Control System

A necessary part of the safety philosophy of nitrogen refrigeration is to ensure that personnel cannot enter the oxygen depleted atmosphere inside the trailer before full purging has occurred. 

A Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) on the vehicle controls AC purge fans and an entry sequence.   Antares brought the ability to operate the equipment directly from the tractor supply via line chargers, batteries and static inverters. Using our ES-Key CANbus system we are now able to provide a complete turnkey system.

Specialist Cargo Power Applications

Cargo needs special techniques.  Over the years Antares have assisted fleet managers looking for solutions to heat inks, cool flowers, dehumidify cars and fine artwork, aerate fish and seafood and squash foam mattresses. 

To do this we can create power with generators and fuel cells, store power in batteries, manage power with high performance contactors and control power with multiplex.
