Antares were asked to design a system that provided 9kW of emergency power without any engine assistance, to operate force protection systems for the UK MOD.  It was vital that if the engine lost power, transmissions could still continue for at least another half an hour.

• EMC Land Class A
• State of Charge monitoring and indication
• IP rated for dust and moisture
• High ambient operation
• Externally mounted to the vehicle
• Immobilised electrolyte cyclic batteries
• Integration to 28VDC vehicle power

The project utilised standard building blocks: GEL batteries, ruggedised chargers and was added to by a high power 300A switching and isolation array and a state of charge battery monitor protected to Class A EMC standards designed by Antares.
