Virtual Alternator System Chosen by Multiple Ambulance Trusts for all Ambulance Vehicles to Optimise Battery Charging, Management and Protection
Charge any battery bank, anywhere on your vehicle, from any source, faster! The Virtual Alternator overcomes the problem of how to charge auxiliary batteries correctly, wherever they are situated on the vehicle, especially when engine run-time is in short supply. Cable volt drop, temperature variation, location and battery technology all demand a unique charging regime at the aux battery. This is invariably different from what the OEM alternator gives which will be optimised for the cranking battery. Where the VA is mounted a long way from the aux battery, or if the aux battery is mounted "outside" temperature sensors can also be added. The VA system also includes auto-split charge, aux battery protect, auto isolate, emergency start and manual on/off for the aux loads.
