Besides the obvious benefits of multiplexing, such as increased onboard diagnostics, fewer light duty mechanical parts, and many less electrical connections, DCCB realized a weight reduction of around 70 kilos. That’s enough weight to add another passenger.

Antares have been providing power to specialist coaches, in particular accommodation coaches used to transport performing artists on tour. The sort of electrical items run range from kettles and coffee machines to plasma TV, DVD and surround sound.

The system charges from the main vehicle engine when running, or a landline to the mains and stores power in a battery. When stopped overnight a “silent” inverter converts power to light the bus and provide the all important playstation, whilst others sleep!
