One of our AAI partners was approached by the utility because they needed "on-board mains" and lots of it. They had used inverters before, and didn't like them as their previous design simply kept failing - it wasn't reliable enough.
Our AAI showed that the Antares based solution, installed by them, would provide them with most reliable, cost effective solution over the life of the vehicles. More than 300 integrated systems have been installed.

Battery skimmer reduces cost, increases reliability with no on-going costs for on-board mains
The Antares battery skimmer is an inverter system that doesn't need a tradiitional split charge or second battery, so the initial costs are reduced, weight is saved and becuase it isn't there - the second battery never needs replacing.
How does it work? It utilises the excess power available in the starter battery on new fleet vehicles and is designed for light-duty use, such as re-charging portable hand-tools that have a 3-pin mains charger "brick", or keeping a mobile worker's laptop charged.
By understanding the power requirements Antares can provide an engineered solution without the need for an 2nd (auxiliary) battery and it's associated auto-split charge.
