Task management is the control & monitoring of consumers within the vehicle system in response to user commands & sensor status inputs. Consumers would typically comprise extra sub-systems, such as lights, sirens, fans, motors, power units, actuators, information displays & so on. These are components added to the OEM base vehicle in order to meet operational demands. Sensor inputs could include existing door switches, data from the CANbus, handbrake, light or temperature sensors. The task manager would control these consumers in response to user & sensor inputs, providing interlocking & other relational functionality as required. Cost is reduced by mass producing standard task manager hardware which is then user programmed to match the application.

Antares’ task management products allow configuration using a Microsoft Windows based graphical user interface. The application software, loaded onto a standard PC, uploads to the Supernode task manager using a standard USB connection.
